"Early in my career as a artist, I was awarded the opportunity to
package a weekly comic strip based on MGM’s famous cat and
mouse cartoon duo, TOM & JERRY™, then owned by Turner
Entertainment. It was syndicated by Editors Press Service and
it was distributed internationally. I had wanted to take a different
approach with the strip and make it silent but Turner didn't feel it
would work. I was assigned to write new materials as well as
redo old strips by the previous artist who had retired. Because of
the translation problems, I was told to keep it simple. Boringly
simple. 1300 Dailies, 260 Sundays, I loved every minute of it!"
